Quebec Society for Disabled Children
On June 19, for the second year in a row, 15 employees went to the Colonie Les Bosquets in Otterburn Park near Montreal to prepare the camp for the summer season. The organization enables children with disabilities to experience a real vacation in the great outdoors by providing care and activities entirely adapted to their needs. In particular, the employees painted walls, assembled beds and planted bushes.
On?June 26, 25 employees devoted a few hours of their time to help out the “Les Amis de la Montagne” organization, which has managed and preserved the Mount Royal park of Montreal for 30 years. Its biodiversity has been threatened by the emergence of exotic species which disrupts the natural replacement of local flora. A tree plantation and invasive tree uporooting program helps preserve the fragile balance between the various tree species within the park and contributes to the vitality and resilience of the forest against climatic events. The 25 employees, divided into groups of three assisted the organization in listing and assessing the development of 120 trees recently planted in a sector close to the Lac aux castors.
La tablée des chefs
On November 20th, 32 employees met in the Jean Talon market, in Montreal, to cook dishes in favour of a local organization, “La Maisonnette des Parents”, which helps hard-pressed families living in the Rosemont – Petite Patrie district of Montreal.
On December 4, around forty employees of BNP Paribas helped the main Canadian food bank, Moisson Montreal, to pack food sacks. In the space of half a day, the employees prepared several pallets of food boxes, which have then been distributed on the Montreal’s island by local community organizations.
